X Festival of Science Fiction Trieste. Part

We are now nearing the start of the X edition of the Science + Fiction of Trieste ( Multiplex Cinecity 11 to November 14).

The festival, organized by the research center film La Cappella Underground (with the cooperation and support of the Ministry Heritage and Culture - Directorate General Cinema, the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Province of Trieste, Trieste City Council, the Chamber of Commerce of Trieste and the University of Trieste) is structured around a multidisciplinary formula: cinema, comics, literature, television. As usual in the middle of the cinema program, premieres with gender and three international competitions: the premium Asteroid, which will be awarded to the best independent film, nominated for a Golden Méliès for Best Short Film Award and Silver Méliès for Best Feature. To these are added New Visions Award Nocturno , which will be assigned to an emerging director. This year

ample space will be reserved for films produced in the Old Continent: the titles of the official selection, the Swiss fiction Cargo Ivan Engler and Ralph Etter ( spoken of here ), Jack French horror- Djinns Hugues Martin and Sandra, the first CGI animated film from Serbia Technotise of Aleksa Gajic, and the blockbuster Jaco Van Dormael Mr. Nobody (already submitted to the Venice Film Festival, see here ) , co-production of Canada, France, Belgium, with Jared Leto and Diane Kruger.

The film, however, is not the only star of this edition: Science + Fiction also lead to Trieste masterclasses and panel discussions, as well as meetings of a scientific nature.

The President of the International Jury will be this year Lamberto Bava, who will present the opportunity to Trieste in the national premiere of a new series of TV movies Six Steps in yellow.

Among the special programs, in collaboration with the Experimental Centre of Cinematography - National Film there will be a tribute to remember Antonio Margheriti, who will act as a corollary una selezione sulla fantascienza spaziale made in Italy.
